About us

Exchange 2 is a registered charity that has been a cornerstone of support for local young people in school years 7-13 since 2002.  Based at The Cabin on the Harleston Recreation Ground, Exchange 2 is not just a youth facility, it's a safe and welcoming space that young people can call their own, it's a place for them to relax, socialise, learn and grow.

 

A place to belong 

 

Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, The Cabin comes alive with laughter, camaraderie and creativity.  Catering to an average of 10-20 attendees per session, the weekly drop-ins offer a mix of themed events like music, pizza and movie nights.  The facility is well-equipped with pool and football tables, board games, arts and crafts supplies and games consoles. 

 

But the fun doesn't stop there.  Exchange 2 goes above and beyond by inviting professionals to deliver workshops in areas like sports coaching and bicycle safety, ensuring that young people not only have a space to unwind but also acquire valuable skills.  We are also able to offer free fitness classes at the Harleston Gym.  Classes run every Thursday 4-5pm and provide a valuable opportunity for young people to stay active, build confidence and improve their overall wellbeing. 

 

Led by a committed team of five Trustees and five Youth Leaders, we collaborate with the South Norfolk Youth Advisory Board to expand our offerings, solidifying our position as a pillar of community support. 

 

Safeguarding and community impact 

 

The role of Exchange 2 does however extend beyond recreation.  Over the years, the dedicated team have raised criticial safeguarding concerns, acting as a lifeline for vulnerable individuals within our community.  As a proud member of the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership, we work closely with the Children's Advice and Duty Service (CADS) to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Harleston's youth.  Please contact us to request a copy of our Safeguarding Policy.
